Hi Sharon. How are things going? Good I hope. I am trying to think of things that we feed Eleanor that you might be able to try or addapt to your son. As you know, we are faced with the same challenge of high calorie foods that are healthy also. I am not sure of the ingredients right now, but she really like McCain smiles. They are mashed potatoe shapes, so they are softer than french fries. Eleanor will sometimes eat scrambled eggs(sustitute) with cheese(soy), and lots of margerine would help with calories. You could try egg free pastas, with lots of margerine. Is soy cheese soft enough? I make chili with white kidney beans and she likes to eat just the beans. They get really soft and she doesn't seem to mind them. Have you ever tried Polycose or MTC oils. Polycose is a calorie booster that you can add to soups or mashed potatoes. It is a tastless powder and dissolves very well. The oil is very high calorie and I am not sure what you could add it to as we only ever put it in formula. Have you thought about my suggestion to see a pediatric dietician. They would be full of ideas I am sure. Good luck with some of these ideas, I hope that they work.
