I see. My other question would be if you are given a yearly contract at your school. As a teacher in Texas, we are given yearly contracts until we've been with the district for many years--then we move into the every 5 year contracts or something like that. With a contract, they may choose to "let us go" any year during the summer. However, it rarely happens and I would think a teacher would still have a great deal of power--especially if you are a member of a national teacher's association. I have to run to a church meeting here in a few minutes, but I'll check back in a bit to see if you were able to respond. This is just such an inappropriate time to be let go!
