It really depends on who you ask. Some people love it. I have friends who had their children a year apart and they say they are best friends, others say they are glad they never had their's close together because they couldn't have handled it when they were ages 1-3. If you are a stay-at-home mom or if you have a lot more time to devote to your children, then it might be easier on you. However, you'll never know until you try.
We want to have 4 children (if we are blessed with that possibility). We will most likely try to have them all between a year to two years apart. I was sure to ask a lot of people (people whose children are now older and have experienced their kids through all the ages) and I got an overwhelming response in favor of having them close together so that they grow up together--experience Jr. High/High School together, etc.
I know this post probably hasn't helped you much--it's really going to be up to you and your dh. Good luck on your decisions.
