I agree...if you are not wanting to get pregnant some other form of birth control is needed (however, estrogen-types are not recommended during breastfeeding).
I totally agree with your statement--as you can see, I included several quotes from medical sites saying the same thing. 98% effective sounds good, but as I mentioned, several friends of mine fell into the 2%.
Nevertheless, we are considering trying to conceive soon after baby #1 is born--maybe with in 4-6 months--it won't hurt to try. However, I have read tons of stuff saying it might be difficult if I am breastfeeding regularly--which I intend to do.
