I started the birthing class last week (at 31 weeks along), they say to take the birthing class at the end, otherwise by the time the baby is due you will have forgotten everything - especially the breathing techniques. But don't leave it to the last minute either as the baby might arrive a little early or you might have complications and not be able to attend the class. I think the 7th or 8th month are the best time to get the birthing class done.
I am also taking a "breastfedding" class and a "baby care basics class". The baby care basics class I am taking in the first week of August and the breastfeeding one they only had an open slot for the 3rd of September - I am due the 13th, so we will see If I will be able to make that one -should have booked earlier. So call early, because they fill up really fast and some of them are free, so you don't want to miss those!
