Okay, Ashley, this may sound a little twisted, so just bear with me. When I first got pg my DH and I were "funny" about sex. In the very beginning, I couldn't wake up long enough to do it...I was really tired. Then when I wanted it, DH felt funny b/c there was a baby "right there".
So more often than not, esp. toward the end, we did it with me on all fours, but sometimes kind of leaning on my stomach. Or sometimes I would sort of just fall forward that way. (Sorry if this is way too graphic, but there's a point, LOL.) Anyway, afterward Junior was often very quiet. I always wondered if I had pressed on his head. Then I would wonder, since my placenta was anterior, had I cut off his oxygen supply by pressing on the placenta and umbilical cord?
I even worried when I was lying on my side b/c I could tell I was pressing right on him (I was huge...there seemed to be baby "everwhere") and I would think, Am I pressing on something that will cut off his oxygen? Have I damaged him? Did I press on his arm or leg? Is he hurt in there?
Well, Colin is here and he doesn't seem affected in the least! He's a great big boy who eats well and usually sleeps pretty well too, and when he's up, he's extremely alert and curious. So I really don't think you can hurt a baby by pressing on it from the outside. If Colin could withstand all that onslaught, your little baby should be just fine!
