: A best friend of mine had a home birth. She sent me the book to read up on and to be ready to help her dh in coaching her. After 48 hours or laboring she was rushed to a nearby hospital because she had infection. They hooked up an epidural and got the baby right out. After the delivery the baby had to be treated for infection, as well, and was full of needles and tubes, etc.
: I still think home birth is a good option for an experienced mother, but I would be sure to be near a hospital just incase something goes wrong. I don't know if my girlfriend would have ever forgiver herself if something went terribly wrong and she wasn't close enough to a hospital to save the baby.
I agree i think its best for women who had a easy labor before. Like me my first child was only 2hrs and they asked me to have homebirth for my second child, but i refused due to the fact i had no room (1 bedroom flat) wished i did have one now due to my horrible experince at the hospital, but if she was born at home i think DH would of had to deliever her LOL imagin the thought! 25 min labor she was dont think the midwifes would of made it on time lol
