The school refuses to let me know why I was terminated. I have called and left messages with my department head, HR and the building. No one will call me back.
However, this is not a terribly bad thing. I checked into unemployment. In Indiana, the weekly rate is based upon the salary you earned in the first 12 out of 15 months prior to the claim. Therefore, it's based upon my old job as well (the one that I was downsized from and took a $30K paycut when I went to the school). I can also draw for 26 weeks. So, the weekly claim will be more than what I would have made at the school and I can spend the next 6 months looking for something I really want to do while still staying home with the kids!
Sometimes when God shuts a door, He opens a window!
