My friend had a home birth with her 4th kid and by then she knew exactly what to expect! Her main reason for chosing a home birth was to save money, she only had to pay the midwife and the accesories for the delivery. They couldn't afford the hospital bill. She did it without any anestectics and said it was very painful but she would do it again! I don't particularly find them safe but it is up to you to choose.
