I teach a multi-age class of 1st and 2nd graders whose ages range from 5 to 7. I told my students after we saw the heartbeat--I was 8 and 1/2 weeks along. The funny thing is that shortly after I told them we started our study of chickens and how they lay eggs and have baby chicks. I think the kiddos were much more fascinated with it since I was also having a baby. The rest of the school year they referred to my baby when we discussed any other animal having a baby. It was SO cute!
