i personally am opposed to such devices that are not natural - as it is it's not so safe to tan too long in the sun (espec. for those stark white people who want qwik tan by qwik burn), to use a machine to duplicate what nature can do is bothersome.
and you can possibly suffer injury, there are many incidents/stories out there, why 'expose' yourself to any risk or even increase your risk. also, if tanning salon says no, then heed advice, regardless if they are overcautious and want to avoid lawsuits, that's cuz there are cases out there for them to even think of this to protect themselves - huge liability to them. and for a doc to say it's ok, why chance it. why be eligible to be the 1st incident and let us all read/hear/learn about it on your behalf.
be scared of tanning salons/bed, well worth not hearing 'better safe than sorry' and 'i told you so' over and over again then it happens to you.
go to the 'land of the fun & sun' in moderation - use sunscreen so you don't age so fast in later years, drink lots of liquids, water espec. to cleanse the body and feed your skin, eat lots of greens and take your folic pills.
and better to be fair/pale than 'burned' - who knows if it has any affect on your pregnancy but why why why chance it. good luck and happy healthy 9mos!
