ovulation AND implantation HELP!

My last period was began on the 16th....my husband and I were together 2 days ago on the 27th without birth control. I know I am supposed to ovulate about 14 days after my period....well, today (March 29th) I am feeling a sharp pain on my right lower abdominal side- just a small sharp pain. The night before last my pelvic area felt really "hot" when I was sleeping...it is possible that I could be feeling ovulation and implantation (I know that sperm can live for several days and ovulation does not ALWAYS occur on the 14th day, sometimes earlier). I feel like I am losing my mind...has anyone else ever experienced this and should I just "wait it out" till the 16th-ish to see if I could be pregnant? ? Thanks, I hope someone will write back.
